Smartsheet Search Bar Pop-Up Window

I was hoping to see info on the new Search bar pop-up that's now in Smartsheet.

**Is there a way to turn it off, please?

**Or at least once we hit "Ok" for the cursor to automatically return to the spot in the search bar where I was typing.

Also, in doing a search within the Help area, I cannot find information on how the other special characters are used in a search beyond the * for subsequent numbers.

The behavior you've described where typing a special character in the search bar immediately displays a warning message has been identified as a bug. Our development will be deploying a fix, however, I don't have an estimated time of when this issue will be resolved.

I wasn't able to find the meaning behind the tilde (~), but I did find this:

For the other special characters mentioned in the pop-up window, how can I find out how those are used in searches? I do know that the * is used for searching numerical data.
