Combining data from 2 sheets
Hi
I have created 2 sheets:
- Employee Onboarding
- Employee KRAs
Both the above sheets have one common field: Employee ID.
Now I want to create a report by referencing to this common data field (e.g., Employee ID) and "blend" the data from both the sheets.
Can we accomplish this please?
Thanks
Nasir

Are you trying to combine this data into a 3rd sheet?

No Paul, there is no third sheet.
I have created a report in which I have added both the sheets so I can pull data from both of them, based on one common field which is Employee ID.
What's happening right now, is that the report is pulling data from both the sheets, and displaying on 2 "separate" rows.

Hi Nasir,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment to combine data in a report so that they will be shown on two different rows, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment
If you need to combine the data, I'd recommend Paul's suggestion and use the third sheet and then maybe use a report referencing that sheet.
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

As Andree said... You cannot combine rows in a report. To combine rows you would need to use a 3rd sheet with cross sheet formulas to pull the data onto the same row.
-
@Paul Newcome How would you go about doing this?
-
I hope you're well and safe!
You'd use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets (collect everything in the same sheet), and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!
