Does anyone know if there is a way to enable a live chat function yet?

I'm trying to find a way to be able to live chat with others while viewing a sheet together. Is there some sort of add-on or plugin?

Got it. Thank you for the response/explanation. I guess I will go ahead and submit this as a product enhancement request. With all the things SS is capable of, I can't believe this is not a feature yet!

Hello Alejandra,

I enabled the Google Hangout In-App chat function. But I did not see any way to initiate a chat. How do I initiate a chat inside of Smart Sheet using this plugin? Where is the chat box?

Hi Mark,

As far as I'm aware, the Google Hangout In-App function doesn't create a chat box within Smartsheet itself, but it enables you to start a video hangout with contacts currently viewing the sheet (see here), or send notifications and requests from Smartsheet and act on them within Google Hangouts Chat. (See HERE and this other article HERE).

It does not appear there are any advancements in the area of live chatting in Smartsheet. Unless I have missed other threads? This would be a valuable tool, especially when testing software with external clients.
