I don't understand what functionality the Smartsheet Bot gives

Hi

I have installed the Bot (shows on leftside of Teams screen) and I know how to add a tab to show a sheet and things but I really don't understand what the Bot is supposed to do for me (the thing showing on the left side of my Teams screen).

The Bot is the piece of software needed for the two different applications to communicate with one another.

Now that you have the Smartsheet Bot installed within Teams, you can set up automations or alerts to send through the Smartsheet Bot to a specific channel in Teams (instead of sending to an email address). You can read more about receiving alerts in Teams in our Help Center (see here).
