Dashboard - change layout depending on a trigger

I know this is a long shot BUT, does anyone know if you can have the dashboard change it's layout depending on a specific trigger?

What I'd like to have happen is that if a certain date is reached, the layout changes to that it highlights a different part of the dash board. On my dashboard the Action Items (or tasks) are more important to see during a given stage of the project then client tracking. Once we change to the next stage I'd like to instead highlight teh client tracking.

If we can't change the layout, is there a way to expand/collapse a section of widgets?

Christina, what would the highlighting look like?

If the sections you are turning on and off are reports, perhaps conditional formatting from the original sheet could simulate what you want. (conditionally format rows or cells based on date or status)
