Does automation ignore changes to rows caused by automation?
Hello,
This might be a silly question, but if I have an automation trigger set for "When rows are added or changed", is Smartsheet "smart" enough to recongize not to fire an automation that was triggered by an approval automation?
For example, I want to request an approval whenever a new row in my sheet is added (which is fed via a Form) or if someone goes in and edits one of the columns in the sheet. But I don't need an approval request if all that changed was Smartsheet changed my approval status column from "Submitted" to "Approved"
Or perhaps it's better to build two separate automations for this; one for new rows added, and a second automation for when rows are changed? What is better from a performance standpoint?
Thanks!

I would suggest two separate automations.

If I build two separate automations, for the automation when rows are changed, is it as simple as selecting all of the columns that I want to monitor for changes?
