How to sort a column without sorting all the columns

Hello, I want to sort columns alphabetically but not have all the other columns sort at the same time. Eventually, I want each of my columns sorted alphabetically but as if they are a stand-alone column and not impact other columns. When I try to sort a column, all the rows associated with that column also sort alphabetically.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now to sort a column only, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment

As possible workarounds, you could maybe,

sort each column and then copy to another sheet and paste it all in again, add an auto-number or similar to keep the default sorting
use a report to sort and then copy/paste
Export to excel and set the structure and import or copy/paste

Would any of those options work/help?
