Are attachments submitted through Smartsheet protected or secure?

I apologize if this has been asked before but I could not find the answer. My organization is looking to see if attachments are considered protected and secure? For example, if we have something that contains Personal Information for an employee (not HIPAA), would this information stay confidential? Does Smartsheet provide any type of securing or encryption for attachments within sheets?

Hi Joni,

if your organisation needs this information, I assume the statement should be given by your Smartsheet rep to be legally valid.

Even though some Smartsheet employees are commenting here, it is still a user community.

From my experience, raw file attachments are not encrypted nor protected from being shared externally. I have noticed that they are stored in AWS and anyone with the URL to the raw file attachment can access it.

It's a bit concerning actually. For this reason, I use Google Drive attachments instead of raw file attachments.
