Where is the "today" default date for forms?

In this updated version of SS I don't see the option for "Today" on the calendar. Has this feature been moved or disabled?

You cannot add formulas to forms.
The workaround is to simply add the Created (Date) Auto column and use this as it will populate the date/time of when the form was submitted.
You can rename this as you please. If you don't want the time, create a new column with formula =DATEONLY(Created@row)

DAN, this makes no sense as this was an option before. Features need to be added to smartsheet not taken away.

The suggestion of "Created (Date) Auto column" is great and seems to work BUT the suggestion to remove the time using =DATEONLY(Created@row) is not working for me...gives me "INVALID COLUMN VALUE" any suggestions here ?

@MONIQUE WALL Good catch! I hope Smartsheet team addresses the issue.

I agree that removing this functionality is frustrating. It worked exactly the way I needed. Having to add an additional column just to have this functionality clutters up the sheet. I want fewer columns that do what they need to do not multiple work around columns that have to be used together to achieve the desired end result.

Update: Never mind! :) I figure it out!
Hello.
I created a new column, type = date, and entered that formula in the first empty cell (then copied it down 10+ rows.). I get "#UNPARSEABLE." When I submit a new form entry, nothing happens in the cell.
Do I just enter this formula in every cell in the column? Can you please explain where you enter the formula?
Thank you.

Here is a suggested workaround, especially if you want the 'Todays Date' cell to still be editable (i.e., backdating or catching up on admin):
- In Edit Form use the help text topreference "if submission date is same as performance date, leave blank"
- Design an automated workflow when 'Todays Date' is blank, change cell value to "Record a Date"
