Formula to calculate start date, from end date

Hi SS community,

I am trying to write a formula to provide a date, 45 days prior to the start date.

Ie. = [Start Date]1 - 45days

Appreciate the help.

= [Start Date]1 - 45

Hi Benjamin,

This is what I entered:

=[CONTRACT WRITING]38 - 45

This yields an #INVALID OPERATION

Both columns are in date format.

I have set up this exact situation and I don't seem to be having a problem. Are cell links involed or have you converted the data in "CONTRACT WRITING" to a string through another formula calc?
