Approval Request with Multiple Conditions only Sending First Request

I need an approval request to run to any impacted team leads when a new estimate is uploaded. For example, if a new estimate is uploaded and the departments included are Search, Social and SEO, I need an approval from the lead of each of those departments.

I have an automation set up for approvals that is triggered when a new estimate is attached and the status is 'Estimates in-progress'. There is a condition for Status then a set of conditions below that which sets up the approval request emails to go to department heads if their department is checked in the request.

When I tested the workflow, it only sent to the first department (Paid Search) even though all departments were selected. Is the automation only sending to the 1st component that meets the criteria instead of all?

    Hi @Lauren Stedman

Yes, thats correct when you’re using condition paths.

I’d recommend creating multiple workflows instead for department.

    Would that work?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!

  • Hi @Andrée Starå

I guess that will work but seems very inefficient. I guess I should have tested with just two departments before building out the whole workflow! Thank you for the response.

I had a similar issue with multiple conditions for a Termination Checklist. I found that adding multiple conditions AND actions going down vs off to the side worked for us. Not sure if that is more effective for you instead of building multiple workflows?

  • Interesting! I will give it a try. Thank you!
