"copy row to another sheet" - Sometimes row gets copied down at the bottom?
Hi,
When there is a workflow to copy a row to another sheet, why does the copied row sometimes appear down at the bottom of the sheet, leaving ~50 completely empty rows in-between the last row or text? I know technically smartsheet must be sensing that the rows in-between are not empty, but does anyone know what causes that so I can inform users of what to stop doing? I'm sure it must be something to do with perhaps moving rows or formatting or something?
It's frustrating because users keep thinking something is broken and then after troubleshooting we discover the rows have been just copying all the way at the bottom...

Have you looked at the Activity Log for clues for why it’s happening?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Hi - I am also experiencing this issue. It seems that if a row or multiple rows are deleted in the 2nd sheet, any new row copied from the 1st sheet will add to the very bottom of the sheet. It thinks that the deleted rows are still there. Does anyone know how to fix this?

How are you deleting the rows? If you're only clearing out the data from within the cells, the rows still have history and aren't seen as "new" anymore. You'll need to fully delete out the rows from the sheet instead of clearing data, does that make sense?

Hi @Genevieve P. - I am selecting the entire row and right-click to delete. It seems that I would have to delete all the blank rows (the "gap rows") and then when I submit info from the form will add to the bottom.

Yes, you'll want to select all the blank rows and delete them with the trash icon to ensure the next row that's entered appears beneath your current data
Cheers,
Genevieve
