I'm just wondering why we can't share folders of workspace to collaborators. I only can share workspace or share sheets only. Some people only need to see sheets in one folder and it's really inconvenient.
Why can't we do multiple tasks at once time: share all the sheets to one person (because can't share workspace) or to save as a new sheet to all folders/workspace?

You are correct: you can either share sheets individually at a sheet-level, or you can share an entire Workspace. There currently isn't the option to share a specific folder, you would need to share each sheet in the folder individually. Please submit an Enhancement Request for this!
If you don't want to set up a Workspace as a sort of "folder" so you just have to add the person once, then you will need to do each task individually (go into each sheet to share that one sheet with that one person).
The Save-as-new function also is only able to create one sheet at a time, not multiple, as you've found. Please submit an Enhancement Request for this as well!

Is there an update to this? I also would like to be able to share a folder with specific people, NOT the entire workspace. The folder contains several reports/sheets, so if I can't share the folder, I would have to share each report/sheet individually, which would take a lot of time. It would be MUCH easier to be able to share a folder with specific people. Then, as the folder owner, I can populate that folder with whatever reports and sheets those people need to see without me having to share each item separately. Basically, I want to have a folder of reports/sheets that I can update at any time and the collaborators can always view the latest and greatest version of the folder with all of its reports/sheets. Is this possible?

My description in the earlier post is still true; you can either share entire workspaces or individual sheets. Folders themselves do not have their own sharing permission settings.
Would you be able to break out your folder as its own Workspace and have two workspaces side-by-side instead of having a folder embedded within a workspace? That would be my suggestion based off of your description.

I've seen many comments requesting this over the years, how has this basic feature not yet been implemented?!
The fact that I either have to share an entire workspace or 100's of individual documents with no granularity in between is ridiculous!

As a professional Smartsheet Consultant, and after many (many) years of working around this Folder Sharing issue, I've really grown tired of seeing this "not" implemented.
This needs to be addressed and it's gone no where. I posted an enhancement request for this in 2009. Again in 2012... As many others have. From what I understand about the core db architecture of Smartsheet, this really is 'not' a difficult thing to implement.
