Adding names to Contact List Dropdowns
Can I add hundreds of names to a drop down contact list relatively quickly? I have to add ~1000 contacts to my drop down and the thought of entering them one by one is daunting. Is there a faster way?

Thank You. I will submit an enhancement request because I need this drop down for a form so my contacts won't help.
For now, my workaround was turning my column into a drop down, pasting my list of emails there, and then converting it to a contact list. This worked but I would have preferred having the individuals' names as opposed to their emails show up,, but I can live with this for now.
Thanks so much!!

Thanks for clarifying that you're using it for a form, that makes sense. And that's a great workaround in the meantime - thanks for sharing!

There isn't currently a way to bulk-add a list of contacts to a Contact Column in its Properties, however you can bulk-upload contacts to your My Smartsheet Contacts (see here). Then, once the contacts are in your My Contacts, if you start typing their name or email in a Contact Column they will appear as an option in the dropdown helper list (see the bottom of this article).
If this isn't what you are looking for, please submit an Enhancement Request to let our Product team know about your use-case and suggestion. You may be able to use the Smartsheet API as an alternative solution for pushing contacts into a column. More information on working with the Smartsheet API can be found in the following articles:

If you copy and paste using the same process with this format, you will see the names listed.
