Smartsheet Email Notifications now go to Spam / Junk

My IT department needs to whitelist these emails. To do so, they need an IP block, campaign ID for our organization only, or something unique in the email header that is specific to our organization. Can this information be provided?

    Hi @Carrie Davis

    This might help.

Smartsheet recently made changes to their subdomains and where the emails are sent from.

    July 31, 2020

    What’s changed?

Emails generated by the Smartsheet app are now sent from the following new subdomains:

    • app.smartsheet.com - for notifications such as automated workflows, sharing, and conversations
    • info.smartsheet.com - for welcome emails and daily mail
    • system.smartsheet.com - for system emails such as password resets and payment notifications

Why did we make this change?

Previously, all app generated emails were sent from the main smartsheet.com domain. Having separate subdomains, separate from the main domain, each with their own distinct sending purpose follows email sender best practices, and allows each separate subdomain to have its own domain reputation.

    General Email Issues

Depending on the configuration and anti-spam practices of your email provider, emails sent from Smartsheet may be improperly marked as spam or blocked altogether. To prevent this, provide the administrators of your email systems with the following information to ensure that email from Smartsheet is approved on the Allowlist.

Smartsheet follows email security standards Sender Policy Framework (SPF)DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) and Domain-Based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) so the recipient’s email systems can validate that we are the legitimate sender for our domains. For those that want more specific control, the following email domains can also be added to your organization's trusted sender list:

    • smartsheet.com
    • app.smartsheet.com
    • info.smartsheet.com
    • system.smartsheet.com
    • reply.smartsheet.com
    • bounce.smartsheet.com

These should be referenced as acceptable domains from which to receive email from smartsheet.com.

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!
