Form default to today's date
I want a form to default to today's date (date submitted). A previous post (2017) showed how to do this by selecting the 'Today' button on the bottom of the calendar in the field settings of the form. However my calendar does not have a today button.

You could add it automatically after the form is submitted.
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

If you want to note the date of the submitted form, I'd rather suggest you to use an automated cell "date created".
Having an hidden field in the form that as this formula within it: =TODAY(), will change date each time you open the sheet, so I believe it won't help.

Like Phil, I also came across the 2017 help forum post showing "Today" as an optional default. That feature was removed. I understand that I can create a column formula in the sheet that the form populates, but I want the form submitter to be able to change the date if it is NOT today/same day as form submission.
Could that feature be re-instated?

I too need to default today's date into a date field on a form so I can see how many days it has been since a new ticket is added and has not been addressed.
If anyone has figured this out, it would be great to know. Not sure why Smartsheet removed this feature from the forms.
