Automatically adjust dates

I am a rooking with using smartsheets. We use the program to create remodeling schedules. I would like the dates to all automatically adjust when I go in and modify or add a day in the middle of the schedule. Right now I have to go in and manually modify any future dates after where I made the change.

Can anybody assist a rookie?

You could also use a formula in each date field that references another date field.

Start with you project start date for the first date field. Then add a formula to all the other date fields. Example below:

Date1 field: 9/25/20

Formula in Date2 field: =Date1+5

The output for the formula should be 9/30/20. If you change Date1, it will always move Date2 out 5 days.

Hi Jcoyne,

The feature you are seeking is inherent in Gantt charts. To make this work, you need to turn predecessors on in your schedule and then add dependencies. There is an article here in the Learning Center that will walk you through the steps.
