Populate a STATIC Date column based on another column in sheet

Hi there,

I am trying to set a date based on when another status column is set to a desired value. For instance, I want to populate a start date (which will never be changed). with the date that the Request Status is set to "Ready For Processing.

I know I can achieve todays date by using a formula, but I do not want to change the value of the date when I view the sheet tomorrow.

Help is greatly appreciated. I am learning as I go - it seems so simple to do but can figure it out.

My solution is only using Smartsheet. I'm not using Zapier.
