Automation Permissions (AP)

Hi can you help with these related questions below

1) Is there just one global setting for AP for the whole account or can I change AP's for a specific sheet eg can i make one sheet restricted to "only shared users" whilst another sheet is set to anyone?

2) We have created workflows on a template with AP (notifications and requests) set to anyone. However each time the template is copied, it defaults back to least restictive - is this by design, can this be overridden

Yes, there is a Global Setting in the Security & Controls section where you can set the account permissions for everyone, and yes, you can change it on each sheet, but the Account Setting will override.
This is by design, but you select to retain the sheets settings when you save the sheet as new (copied), but it also depends on the Account Settings.

Hi Andre - OK for Question 2 - I had read this elsewhere but thought template behaviour may be different.

For Q1, I was referring to Automation Permissions for Notifications and Requests NOT Account Permissions. So my question is does smartsheet differentiaite between Automation Permissions for Notifications and Requests at Account level versus Automation Permissions for Notifications and Requests at sheet level

Yes, but the account level decides what is possible to set on the sheet.

Hi Andree - You failed to include a post that would have answered one of my two original questions i.e. where to set Automation permissions at sheet level v Account level. Eventually it was quicker to find the answer myself and to do you the courtesy of sharing what it was I needed to know. 😉

Re-opening this question... I know the Account Level security setting where you can let people select "Unrestricted" -- but every time we create a new sheet it defaults to Restricted and we have to manually change it to Unrestricted. Is it possible to have all sheets automatically go to Unrestricted?
