Copy values from a formula
Hello everyone
I would like to extract and keep only the value from a field caluclated by a formula :
For example :
- When the row is added, there is an automatic formula in my column that gives me the result 5
- I want to extract only the value 5 from this column (or put it in an helper column beside if it is more simple)
Do you know if it is possible to do this in Smartsheet ?
Thank you,
Corentin

Not sure I follow!
Do you want to get the value 5 in another column without using a formula?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

Thank you for your reply,
Sorry for my explanations, I will try to reformulate :
I would like either to :
- Transform the cell with the formula to change it to the value 5
- Get the value 5 from the cell with the formula, and put it in another column
Thank you very much !

I have taken some screenshots to give more context :
I have one column that is a creation date column "Date du contrôle"
I have another column that is a date column "Date contrôle". It is equal to =[Date du contrôle]@row
The result I would like to obtain is to automatically get the value 18/09/20 hard-coded and freezed, and not calculated by the forumla.
It can be directly in this column "Date contrôle" or in another column if it is more simple.
I need this because sometimes my creation date column have issues and lose data..
Thank you for your help and your time,

@Andrée Starå I tested your solution, thank you for the help.
But when I copy the row I still have the value as a calculation of my formula and not hard-coded right ?
Is that a parameter in the copy row automation to say if we want to copy only value and not formulas ?
Thank you,
Corentin

You're correct, it will still have a formula, but the value wouldn't change because it's coming from another sheet (Stored/Locked).
Make sense?
