Sort order affected by other users

Hello team -

 

I am one of many users that updated this sheet on a minute by minute basis.  Every time I do anything, I update the sheet.  Problem is that even thought I've set up a filter so that I only see the items is want to see, whenever another user sorts the columns, my view get's sorted too.  It makes it very difficult to find what I'm looking for without using the old Ctl F function.  If I could set up my view to sort and filter the way I wanted it, things would be so much better.

Can anyone help?  Am I just missing some tool that everyone else knows about?

When collaborators sort the sheet and save, they permanently change the structure of the sheet. One workaround for this is to create reports for everyone. Reports are similar to filters on a sheet but reports are a different item. Collaborators can sort the report instead without affecting the source sheet.
