Rich Text Widget - email

Hello. I'm utilizing the Project Rollup template set for various clients. In editing the Smartsheet supplied dashboard for this template set, I'm editing the Key Contacts Rich Text Widget to show our Account Manager and Associate Account Manager for each client.

So I have:

AM - John Doe

AAM - Sarah Smiles

What I need to do is have each person's name be a clickable link that opens their email address. Sadly, it appears all one can do is create a hyperlink to a URL.

Am I missing something? I would think that having this widget labeled "Key Contacts", someone would have created/enabled this ability.

Hyperlinks in Dashboards currently need to be a specific URL, so it won't accept a "mailto" address, as you've found. An alternate solution I've seen here in the Community is if you created a URL from a mailto address using a third party application (such as bitly.com or  https://is.gd/), and then used this link as your hyperlink in the Dashboard.

I'm glad you were able to figure something out! It's good to hear your feedback though, and I understand how this feature could be quite useful.

There's a number of enhancements for Dashboards coming out in 2021, but I'm not sure if this is one of them. If you have a moment to fill out this form here, I know our Product team would like to hear of your ideas to make Smartsheet better!
