Document builder and updating the template
I have started using document builder. I have mapped all the fields and the document works well. We had a minor update to the PDF document, which means that I need to remapp the whole PDF. This seems like a lot of work every time you make a change to the template document. Is there a way in which we can "map" the smartsheet fields to the name of the field in the PDF document, such that we can replace the PDF and the the mapping will remain. This can sometimes take hours to remap when you have a large number of fields and you find one single spelling mistake.

I am using the Doc Builder as well and can relate to your comment. I do not know of a way to do this today but it would be an excellent enhancement request. I am also looking forward to future enhancements to this type of functionality.
Thank you,
Kevin
Happy to help if I can.

I totally feel your pain! Definitely needs addressing.

Any chance this has been addressed in another thread since 2020? Still having the same issue.

Hi @KarlaJRivas
There has been an update since this thread!
Smart remapping reuses existing document mappings. Document Builder should recognize previously mapped fields, as long as the names are the same! See: Tips for working with column mapping

Genevieve
