Automating updates from other systems, such as Oracle

Is there a way to set up a link or request to Oracle for example to run a report and upload updated information automatically? This question is for a co-worker, he is the one that currently has to pull data into Excel for everyone, so he would like to automate the process to keep from constantly dropping what he is doing to run reports.
