Capacity Planning
I have effectively put several project plans in place at work.
We have summary reports by assignee working really well for updating multiple projects from one report.
The next step is calculating how much work we can take in with the resources we have and planning how much extra resources may be needed in the future with new projects coming online.
My question is Would you have any tips on Capacity planning using Smartsheet.
I know using resource pool correctly and % allocation will show us if we have resource issues but is it possible to calculate man hours for each project.
I was thinking of simply multiplying % allocation by duration to get real amount of time spent per task.
Is there a template set up already for this standard piece of info required by companies.
If you have any other info or data on Capacity type issues this would really help.
Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
We don't have a capacity planning template in the template gallery and our Resource Management functionality currently can't plan for Capacity/resource hours.
I think you're on the right track with creating another column to calculate this.
