How do i make an empty or blank cell equal "$0.00" in Smartsheet?

I would like to make certain columns on a sheet that has empty or blank cells to show $0.00, rather than being blank. Can I create a formula that says "if a cell is blank, make it show $0.00"?

Yes, you can, but if it will work depends on your specific structure.

Would that column only need to show the values, or would you need to add values as well?

That column only needs to show the values for cells that are not being used. Other cells in that column will be populated with data via copy/paste from an Excel doc.

I'd recommend adding a so-called helper column (Excel) to paste the column's data and then add something like below (format it to USD Currency Format).

=IF(Excel@row = "", 0; Excel@row)

Make sense?

It may work, but I don't like the fact I would be adding multiple new Helper columns.

You'd only need to add one helper column, or are there multiple columns that you'd need to work the same way.

It might be possible to structure something with either the Smartsheet API or a 3rd party service like Zapier.
