Remove a dropdown option once selected

Is there a way to have a single select dropdown list where once an option is selected, it is no longer an option for others to select? I'm trying to create a sign up sheet where someone can volunteer for a specific date and time, but once that slot is filled, someone else cannot sign up for it. I'm trying to do this in a form to populate a grid. Thank you!

Smartsheets doesn't currently have the capability to dynamically change dropdown options. It would be a useful capability. You should suggest it as an enhancement, link below.

I recently ran a webinar on how to create an Office Sign up solution in Smartsheet. Within it we show a number of solutions including a booking system which we have developed which will do what you are looking for, however it is using a webform with the data stored in Smartsheet.

There are ways of achieving what you are looking for though, using functions and automations. My email address is in my profile screen. I have been asked for a recording link to my Office Bookings webinar by many, yesterday I sent it out again (which is great!) but it made me consider the original question again.

So just in case the webinar wasn't quite what you were looking for, we also have a Smarter Dropdown List Manager app which controls the values in a dropdown list which is configured at a central source. The source is able to be a report, so that you can always have the live active entries in your dropdown list values without having to edit the column properties constantly.
