Can Smartsheet generate QR codes to access forms?

Hi. I woud like to be able to generate a QR code to leave at specific work sites to give workers at that site an easy link to access to smartsheet forms. We already use forms to record entries into our service logs but we are growing quickly and have lots more sites and it is becoming tricky to manage. If we were able to leave a QR code onsite for the worker to scan to access a specific form that would be perfect! Not sure if this is possible currently but if not it might be a great feature to implement. Thanks! Looking forward to some feedback

I don't think Smartsheet can generate a QR. However, form URLs are constant so you could use a 3rd party QR generator to create the code and post it at your job sites.

I like the idea of having it as a feature in Smartsheet. The link to submit a product enhancement is below.

To add to Mark Cronk's excellent advice/answer.

Yes, I agree that it would be an excellent feature to have in Smartsheet.

I've developed a solution for collecting the unique URLs in Smartsheet and then use that in a Google Sheet to get the unique QR codes.

Let me know if you want a simplified Google Sheet with the QR Code feature.

I'd be happy to share an example.

I seem to be having a problem generating a valid QR code. When I generate it, and then subsequently test it, it won't take me straight to the form, it wants me to login to SmartSheet. That is not what I need to happen.

Hi all,

lacking (for this moment) a formula (just like in Excel) we have developed a hosted solution to generate and add a QR code ‘inline’ into Smartsheet. So without using Google sheet. Any url will do the trick: also custom created forms: just enter url and qr will pop-up a few seconds later.

If you are using browser Edge, you can generate the QR code quite easily. You copy the link of the Form (Share form, tab: Link) to the browser. Them you open context menu of the page (right click of your mouse) and than choose: Create QR Code for this page.
