Smartsheet Merge - Merging Single Doc versus Combine into One File

I've been collecting data in Smartsheet and successfully merged it with a Google Doc to create readable documents to share the data. The document has specific formating with header and footer information, including a logo on the first page only. There are 52 rows of data in my Smartsheet, and when I use Smartsheet Merge to merge the data with the Doc asking it to create 52 separate Docs it works perfectly. However, when I run the merge to create a combined file, it loses it's formatting and I lose the header entirely. How can I fix this? I need to combine these into one document and would rather not have to cut and paste and format, that kind of defeats the purpose.

I can't share the sheet or subsequent files due to the data, sorry.
