is there a way to view a sheet in the same window as a "modern" theme form?

I have a form, using the modern theme, that requires the user to enter a unique numerical code associated with a project, as part of the project's approval process. Is there a way for the user to see the sheet (or part of it) that contains the list of these codes, so that they dont have to go searching around the dashboard for them?

It would be really cool if I could use the large, basically blank, left side of the screen for this.

The project flow:

a new project is proposed --> the user generates a project code via a form

The user then enters the project code on a second form as part of a checklist, possibly much later in the project

Unless the user wrote down the code and then immediately goes into the 2nd form (with is unlikely), it will require the user to dig around the workspace to find the code. Its important that both forms reference the same code for record keeping.

    Hi

This isn't answering your query in the way it has been posed, but it is a way of getting the project code automatically entered into a dropdown list for another form to use without having to manually update dropdown lists.

We have developed an app for obtaining values for dropdown list management from the column entries in sheets. E.g take the project codes created in sheet A and use a distinct list of them as dropdown values in Sheet B.

    See here for more information:https://smarterbusinessprocesses.com/smartercontrols4smartsheet-dropdown-list-manager-content-collector/

Alternatively at the second part of the process, you can use an Update Request form which could have current record entries showing and within the form it will ask for a little more information to add to the existing record.

    Would either of these help?

    Kind regards
