Return to incomplete Form

Is there a way for an end user to partially complete a form, then return later to that same form and fill in the remaining details? The thing coming to mind for me is incorporating a 'Request an Update' workflow triggered by an incomplete row record.

Curious to see what others have done to solve this type of problem.

The simplest method would be to automatically send an update request, but you could also have a process where they can request it, and then it sends automatically.

Thanks @Andrée Starå, this is helpful. Are you saying they (the vendor) could have a process to request the form initially or upon initial submission, they could request the follow up as they know they didn't complete it the first time around?

They could already have access to the form, and then if they want to update or similar, they could either send in the same form with a code or have another shared sheet or report where they can select what they need to update, and that would trigger an update request to the owner of that row.
