Mandatory fields for updates

I would like to know if in an automation workflow is it possible to make it mandatory to modify or change a column data or field in the request before making it complete. I have set a Field of the status of Our customers, and in a certain moments I need our sales team to update some columns,... I did a workflow to send those update request with a determined trigger.

I have noticed that sometimes they sent the update but They don't change Any Data. Any ideas?
