Does Smartsheet support COUNTIF function for conditionally formatted cells by color?

I wish to count the number of cells in a smartsheet column with a specific color (example RED) that I added using conditional formatting rules. It looks like the COUNTIF function does not work for this use case. Any pointers?

Wouldn't the same condition/formula apply to your formula column that you specified in conditional formatting?

For example, if your conditional formatting is to set the text to red if date value is in the past, then your COUNTIF should also be able to do so with the criteria for that date column range where date is "< TODAY()"

@Sameer K but if you have different conditions for each column it makes it more difficult to code vs. just having to code to the conditional format. which at this time i don't think is supported
