Gantt Chart/Graph

Options

I have put in the dates for the task and can not make the excel file show a gantt chart/graph for the project. I have even deleted and reopened a new file and I can not figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Also, I am using a Mac if that makes a different.

    Hi @April R

I Imported this file to create a new sheet and was able to turn it into a Gantt chart. After the data has been brought in, you'll want to update the two Start Date and End Date columns to have the correct Column title, then make sure they're Date Type of columns (see here for more information on Columns).

As soon as you have two date columns in your sheet, you can turn it into a Gantt chart.

If you want to automatically calculate the Duration, you can turn on Dependencies in your sheet. To do so, right click on any column header then select "Edit Project Settings". Here is where you can choose which column has the Start Date and which column has the End Date.

When you enable Dependencies it will create two new columns for you, a Predecessor column and a Dependency column. Keep in mind that new columns will be created to the very far right of the sheet. Your document seems to have quite a number of blank columns in the source excel file, which are being converted into blank columns in your Smartsheet sheet. I would advise deleting out all these extra columns from your source sheet before importing it so it's a little easier to find these newly added columns. (See: Import Files to Create New Sheets)

    Cheers,
