How to automate a cell in the smartsheet from the web form

Dear Smartsheet,

I would like to automate the name of the person whom submitted the web form into the corresponding smartsheet cell.

Is there a way to do that?

Eg. (see below screenshot)- Say the first person, Jacinto, is submitting the webform. Is there a way to remove this field but to submit the form automatically with his name. Etc. etc. for the rest names.

To add to David's excellent advice/answer.

If you set the form so that the submitter has to be logged in to Smartsheet to submit, you can use the System Column, Created by to get the submitter's information automatically.

This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but if you want to assign this form to specific people and have their names automatically populate on the form when they fill it in, you could customize the URL and automatically fill in the name in the custom URL. Something like:

https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/{yourFormID}Name=Jacinto%20Sabugueiro

That would allow them to submit your form and would automatically put Jacinto's name in the Name column. You would just need to create a custom URL for each of the people filling out this form.

Sorry, I am not too god at this. Where would I insert the custom URL? Will it be on the sheet, webform or in any specific cell?

Hi again,

I was asking some members that have access to the webform to submit for me a demo test.

Unfortunately, the "created by" column did not insert them with their personal email address rather inserted "web-form@smartsheet.com".

How can I make sure that the submitter´s email address or else their name will be correctly inserted?
