Date Column

Hello,

I have my date column set to 'Text/Number' for the column type, but there is (1) date that keeps reverting back to the actual date format. I've changed this back to Text/Number everyday. Can someone please tell me why this keeps happening everyday? No other dates change except the one highlighted below. Thanks.

Hi, Wanda. When you use the "Date" column type in Smartsheet, the typical entry is expected to be in the MM/DD/YY format (like the cell you have highlighted) and not a text-based entry (like the other cells in your column). So, if you enter Oct 4 in the cell, Smartsheet will interpret that into a "short date" format of 10/04/21.

If you want text-based dates in the cell, you might be better off reverting your column type back to Text/Number and using Smartsheet's date formatting function for this column instead. There, you can select a "long date" format that more closely approximates the style you have in your screenshot.
