Is it possible to embed an image in an automated email?

We are trying to add an image to an automated email. We put the image (tried both .png and .jpeg) in the column and use a placeholder, but only the name of the file comes through in the email, not the actual image.

Is this possible or no? If so, how is it done?

This is a GREAT idea and would be well used, especially when you are communicating guidance on how to do something to a user. Pictures are worth a thousand words!
