Sharing a report

Hi,

I have an inquiry about sharing a report as I would like to know if we have a way to share the report without sharing the original source sheet.

Example:-

I create a report "QA report" that getting data from a source sheet named "Quality Checks". The filter of the QA report will be the name has any of "current user" which I will get the users to see their specific rows of data only. However, if I share the source sheet named Quality checks, the data will be shared to everyone which we shouldn't do that because it breached the private and confidential policy.

Please could anyone advise if there is any alternative way to make this happens?

A solution that would be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Dynamic View.

• Dynamic View Light

I recently developed a (what I call), Dynamic View Light. It's quite advanced, but in short, it's using cross-sheet formulas and INDEX/MATCH and a specific structure and method, so it's only possible to show data that should be available.

• WorkApps (if you're on the Enterprise plan or higher)

Another solution that could be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, WorkApps.

Hi @Andrée Starå,

Yes, we tried with Workaspps and it allowed us to show that are visible to the others - but it's required license to all the users. We might need to test on Dynamic View.

Yes, they either need to have a Smartsheet license, or you need to buy WorkApps Collaborator packs.

Licensed users

WorkApps can be shared to licensed users of any Smartsheet plan, internal or external to the app builder’s organization.

Unlicensed users or free collaborators
