Currency Format not working in smartsheet column formula

Hi,

I have 2 columns. Check Amount and Amount Paid. The Check Amount column has a column formula that copies data from the Amount Paid column -- This is the formula=[Amount Paid]@row.

I clicked the currency icon on to format my Check Amount and Amount Paid with the dollar sign. This worked.

The problem is that going forward, any data that gets copied from the Amount paid column to the Check Amount column is not formatted with the dollar sign.

Any ideas?

How is the data being added to the Amount Paid column?

The user adds the data into a different sheet and an automation copy's the row into this sheet where it has the 2 columns.

Lets try something. Insert a checkbox column and enter the following column formula:

=IF(ISNUMBER([Amount Paid]@row), 1)

If it does not check the box on any row(s), then those rows are coming through as text values and we will need to figure out why as the next step.

It does check the box, so it is a number..

And you have applied the currency setting to the entire column by clicking on the column header and then selecting your currency option?

Yes, I did click on the column header and then selected the currency option. When the data is in the column already, it applies the format, but not for the data that gets moved there afterwards.

There is a column formula in the column so that may be preventing the format from working..

I wouldn't think that would be the case, but you may want to reach out to support to see what they say.

@ygoldgrab - Did you ever figure this out? I have one column that for some reason will not show as currency! I cannot figure out why!

@Tina Ciak , no, sorry, I still have this issue - it seems it's something to do with my row getting moved from another sheet
