Generate Document producing words instead of checkboxes

Using the generate document feature. I have a page with a significant amount of checkboxes (50+). They should only appear when checked however, I am getting a page full of true and false words. I tried re-formatting the PDF to Adobe Pi. Then tried using the windows button and period in a text field to format my formula differently. Also tried the standard approach using a checkbox column and a simple if check box formula. All with no success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Upon further review on this topic, at this time Smartsheet does not have a programmed capability for that specific feature when you try to map the checkbox in the fillable PDF, it shows the word "true or false." This is a current limitation on the document builder, but it is a really great idea! When you have a moment, please submit a Product Enhancement Request to let our Product team know about your feedback.

 

In the meantime, an alternate solution I was able to do is by separating the "True" and "False" columns into their own. For example, I have column1 (Checkbox column type) named True and column2 (Checkbox column type) named False. I then mapped them to the pdf and it works.

Hi all! I was actually able to get this to work. If you start with formatting your original form in Adobe make sure to only allow check boxes in the properties. This will pull with the form when your format and generate from Smartsheet.
