Lock Request Update Action

Is there a way to lock/stop being able to use the button sent in a Request Update Action in the workflow?

For example this button gets sent via email and after a certain date if they click that "open update form" button, I want the button to not allow them to make updates.

I tried deactivating the form, but it still allowed a user to click the "open update form" button and make updates.

Hope you are fine, the only way i know is to delete the update request from the sender account and the form will be deactivated.
