Sync'ing hyperlink column to Salesforce field

We are trying to sync a "Project Dashboard" column with a Salesforce field so users can pull up the Smartsheet Dashboard directly from Salesforce. However, the connector seems like its only sync'ing the text value and not the actual link.

    Michael,

I'm not an expert with the Salesforce connector (just learning it myself!) but what type of field are you using in Salesforce? If it is just a text field, it wouldn't likely pull in any hyperlink formatting. Maybe try using a Rich Text or URL field?

  • It’s a URL field in Salesforce. What is coming in from the connector is the text of the Smartsheet field in lowercase with hyphens for spaces (I.e. “Project X” that links to “app.smartsheet.com/xxx” would come in as “project-x”)

Ah ok. So you aren't trying to copy in the actual url directly but text that, in Smartsheet, is hyperlinked.

I don't think that the connector transfers any formatting.

Try simply connecting the actual url.

It's not as pretty, but Salesforce should then recognize it as a url and format it for you.
