Make my primary column a contact list
Hi,
I would like to make my primary column a contact list. I know that this is not possible so I tried to copy the whole column using a simple = formula, but as Smartsheet only has 50 cells, this is only a temporary solution.
My goal is to alert someone (send to contacts in a cell), in order to do that I need a cell with e-mail address filled in that is formatted as a contact list. How can I do this?

@Fritz Schiltz Changing a primary column is not directly possible. However, you can always copy and paste the text from the other column into your primary column, and change the header name. The primary column does have to remain a text/number column.
I'm not sure what you mean by Smartsheet only has 50 cells, but you can right click on a formula (even in the Primary Column) and click "convert to column formula." This will make all of the cells in that column - whether currently in the sheet or added in the future - populate the formula.

How are the emails getting populated, and why do you need them to go into the Primary Column?

I don't, changing my primary column could also be a solution, but how do you do that?

I would suggest having them fill in their emails into a contact type column instead of the Primary Column. As @Heather D mentioned... The Primary Column is restricted to a text/number type only.
