Automatically approve for one user?

Hello,

I think I know the answer but I wanted to ask the gurus! We have a vacation approval application that has a calendar app associated with it so all users can see when anyone is out of the office.

Everyone is using the app, right to the top of that organization. Everyone BUT the person at the top has a designated approver. The approver for the person at the top is in another organization and won't be using this application.

We'd like to have the vacation entered by the person at the top automatically approved, but everyone else will go through the normal approval process.

I tried putting a formula in the approver field to automatically set it to approved if the name was that of the person at the top, but then my automated workflow for all the other approvals stopped working because the approval field had a formula in it.

So I'm guessing there is no way to do this and that person is just going to have to approve their own vacation, which they have agreed to do, but I had to ask! :-)

I believe you are correct. The most efficient way of going about this is going to be having the person at the top do their own approval.
