Automation Approval Workflows

Hi there,

Silly questions, but I have set up an approval work flow that "if Approved" and based on specific conditions, an email is sent to a team member for confirmation. If the column that stores the approval decision is manually updated (not via the emailed link), will the workflow still trigger or do I need to set up another automation? If I do set it up to send an alert when that column changes, will it affect the approval workflow?

Hi Sarah,

Here's what I've found. Limited experience here. Changing an approval column from blank to "submitted" generates the approval request. Changing it from "submitted" to "approved" initiates the next action in the workflow. Save your sheet after each change so the automation records.
