Lookup Function-bottom to top
Is there anyway to use lookup function to find the match from bottom (most recent) of the table rather than finding the match from top?

Hi Rkumar,
LOOKUP is designed to work in sorted (return the first value less than or equal to the lookup value) or unsorted (returns an exact match for the lookup value) lookup tables. There isn't a way to force the function to look from bottom to top rather than top to bottom.
All of our functions that calculate over ranges work from top to bottom, left to right. There isn't a way to change this behavior. You'd need to apply a sort to your table such that moves the recent rows to the top of the table.

I understand, thank you!

There is a way to force bottom to top LOOKUP in Excel. It doesn't seem to work in SmartSheets though. This is what it looks like in Excel and perhaps what it may look like when possible in SmartSheets:
LOOKUP(2,1/($A$2:$A$19=D2),$B$2:$B$19)
