500000 Cell Limit

We have multiple spreadsheets with large quantities of data. I would like to inquire about potential for Smartsheet to increase the column/row limits and overall cell limit of 500000 cells. Excel allows much more data than this and this seems to be a large downside of the Smartsheet App. Any information you can provide on when this can be overcome would be much appreciated. We are working for a very large client with many projects over the next number of years, currently using smartsheet very successfully for many of our processes, but our client and ourselves would like to see the capability expanded.
