Efficient way to include names in a contact list column

Is there a faster way than typing each name you want included in a column that is set up as a "contact list"? Right now it seems that each name needs to be addedindividually. Can this be simplified by using an existing list and simply choose that list to be included in the column?

OK, just read through a few questions already posted and it looks like there are some workarounds, but no copy | paste option into the contact list drop down choices.
