Where are the phantom rows???

Hello Smartsheet Community.

I searched this topic but found only variations of my specific issue. I have a simple smartsheet. 17 columns, 321 records. NO hierarchy, no attachements, nothing. Most columns are manual entry and about 4 columns are single-select entry. I have a phantom row that is presenting (not) itself in my dashboard based off the records in the spreadsheet. It #322. I cannot for the life of me figure out where the extra row is coming from. Any advice on this please?

Smartsheet automatically adds 10 empty rows to the bottom of every sheet. Are you able to provide a screenshot? Is it being pulled into metrics through formulas, or is it just "visible" on a report, or.....?

  • It's just visible on a report when I pull in the Smartsheet into my Tableau data source. No other data sources added. Just a row of Nulls in the tableau report. I also did do a "delete" of the 10 extra rows at the bottom of the Smartsheet. That didn't work. I think i'm just going to filter it out and call it a day.

Hmm... I couldn't replicate it. I wonder if it has to do with any of your filters maybe.

  • Yeah, I checked those also. I even opened a brand new blank Tableau workbook and brought in the same Smartsheet to see if that would fix it. I did not. Thanks for the ideas thought. I ended up filtering the NULL row out. That was my work around.
