It looks like you resolved this question, is that correct?
It may be that the original name is associated with the Account, not just your contacts. This means that either a System Admin for your organization or the user themselves will need to adjust their account name (see: Admin Center: Add, Edit, and Delete Individual Users with User Management).

Yes. That was the issue. I had to have the user correct their profile and then it was able to be saved accurately. Thank you.
